Design & file preparation for cutting and printing

We engineer the product, nest the parts on the sheet and prepare files for launch: closed contours, operation layers, 1:1 scale. We work with your file or create artwork from scratch — from a sketch, a photo or a written description.

Every product starts with sheet nesting

The engineer turns an idea into working documentation: choosing how the parts join, the material thickness and the fits for hardware, then nesting the parts on the sheet so that material waste stays minimal. Nesting is what defines the unit cost of a run, so it gets dedicated attention.

The finished artwork is not a picture — it's a file that runs on the machine without corrections: closed contours, operations split into layers, kerf compensation. Before launch every file passes a pre-production check — errors are caught before the laser is ever switched on.

What’s included

What's included

The full preparation cycle: from an idea in words to files that run on the machine without corrections.

01Product engineeringInterlocking joints, tabs, fits for hardware and glue-free assembly — wherever the design allows.
02Sheet nestingOptimized layout: less material waste — lower cost for the production run.
03Machine-ready filesOperation layers: cut, engraving, creasing. Closed contours with kerf compensation built in.
04Prepress for printingColor setup, white ink, bleeds and registration of the image to the cut contour.
05Fixing your artworkWe check submitted files, repair contours and bring them up to production requirements.
06Pre-production checkThicknesses, bridges and minimum feature sizes are verified before launch — defects get caught in the file, not in the run.

How it works

How the design process works

Approval at every step: you see the product before the run starts.

STEP 01BriefYou send a sketch, photo, reference or description — we discuss the task and the material.
STEP 02EngineeringWe design the product and approve dimensions and appearance on a preview.
STEP 03FilesSheet nesting, operation layers, prepress preparation.
STEP 04Into productionThe artwork goes to the machine — we can print a sample first if you like.
Applications

Where it's used

Design is where every order starts: packaging, games, decor and technical parts all begin with a file.

Frequently asked questions

Can I come with no artwork at all?
Yes. A hand-drawn sketch, a photo of a similar product or a description of the task is enough — our engineer will prepare the artwork from scratch and approve it with you before launch.
How much does design cost?
It depends on complexity: a simple fix of a submitted file often comes bundled with the production run, while engineering from scratch is priced by the number of parts and operations. The price is fixed before work starts.
What do you deliver?
Machine-ready files for the specific equipment: cut contours, engraving and creasing layers, print artwork with bleeds. Source files can be handed over by agreement.
Do you account for the laser kerf?
Yes, interlocking joints are kerf-compensated — parts fit snugly, with no play and no forcing.
Will the artwork be kept for repeat runs?
Yes, artwork and production parameters are stored indefinitely: a repeat batch launches without re-approval and comes out identical.
